Why so Serious(/green)?

Oh green lantern,

dont shine so bright,

on the path she turned,

dont shed green light,

it is all too dusty,

cracked with blight,

far less traveled,

than you make it look like

under your bright

green light.

Truth, she never asked for,

lies, she don't deserve,

so don't break her heart, or

mislead her to desert, 

in hopes of greens

which she misses,

from the time before

she stood to part

from my ways,

to hers.

Oh green lantern,

do burn me in flames,

greener wont I burn,

cuz I am not the same

as back when

we used to play

till the evening sun

went down to lay.

I took all the blame,

for what happened or not,

I felt all the shame,

for all I left and got.

But, I will burn bright,

from the agony and plight,

to show her the truth,

but not so green,

as you might.

Oh green lantern,

make me a pleasent sight.
